Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Tripsi collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website (including early access forms), related communications, and the Tripsi mobile app.
1. Who is responsible
Tripsi is the controller of personal data processed through the Services. Contact: hello@tripsi.app.
2. Data we collect
A. Early access and website
- Email address when you join the waitlist or apply for early access.
- Optional special role (Partner or Ambassador).
- Optional social platform and username (Instagram, X/Twitter, or TikTok) when you apply for a special role.
- Basic technical data such as approximate device/browser information and pages viewed, including privacy-oriented analytics from our hosting provider.
B. Account and profile (app)
- Account identifiers and authentication data managed through our identity provider (for example email and secure login tokens).
- Profile details such as username, profile photo, language preference, badges, and invite-related information.
- Support or feedback messages you send us.
C. Location and on-site captures
- Precise or approximate location when you grant permission, used to show nearby spots and support on-site capture verification.
- Photos and other media you create or upload for captures, stories, or profile content.
- Capture metadata needed to operate the product (for example spot association, timestamps, and contribution counts for rankings).
D. Reviews, favorites, and community activity
- Ratings across experience, accessibility, and safety.
- Saved favorites, journal entries of places you visited, and similar in-app activity.
- Public community contributions visible to other explorers (for example captures shown on a spot or ranking position).
E. Device, usage, and Campaign delivery data
- App and website diagnostics, crash or performance signals, feature-flag state, and approximate usage analytics that help us keep Tripsi reliable.
- In-app Campaign and survey delivery data when that feature is enabled, including placement (for example Home), content shown, selection tokens, session identifiers, platform, app version, language/locale, and interaction events such as entry shown/tapped, impressions, dismissals, CTA clicks, link opens, and video play events.
- Audience-targeting signals used to decide whether a Campaign applies to you (for example platform or version rules, and location only when you have already granted location permission and targeting requires it).
- We do not sell your personal data.
3. Why we use your data
- Provide early access updates, run Promotions and in-app Campaigns you see or choose to engage with, and evaluate Partner/Ambassador applications.
- Select, schedule, frequency-limit, and measure Campaign content managed from our admin tools and shown in the app.
- Operate core product loops: discover, capture, review, and trust.
- Verify on-site contributions and maintain ranking integrity.
- Personalize nearby discovery and account preferences.
- Secure the Services, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
- Improve product quality, performance, and community features.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal bases
Depending on your location, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract (providing the Services you request), consent (for example optional marketing updates or certain device permissions), legitimate interests (securing and improving Tripsi in ways that do not override your rights), and legal obligation.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Early-access records are retained while the program is active and for a reasonable period afterward to manage invitations and prevent abuse. Account and contribution data are generally kept while your account remains open, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period unless we must retain it for legal, security, or dispute reasons.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encrypted transport, access controls, and provider security practices. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and protect your devices.
8. International transfers
Tripsi and our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
- Manage location, camera, and photo permissions in your device settings.
- Update profile information in the app where available.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails, or by contacting us.
- Request account or early-access data deletion by emailing hello@tripsi.app.
10. Children
Tripsi is not directed to children under 16 (or the higher age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tripsi evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, when changes are material, provide additional notice where appropriate.
