Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Tripsi’s websites, early access waitlist, and mobile application (together, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Tripsi.
1. Who we are
Tripsi (“Tripsi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a community-verified travel platform that helps explorers discover real spots, capture them on site, rate experiences, and build trust through community contributions.
Questions about these Terms: hello@tripsi.app.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher, to use the Services.
- If you use Tripsi on behalf of an organization (for example as a Partner), you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.
- Early access is invite-only. An application or waitlist registration does not guarantee admission.
3. Accounts and early access
Some features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.
When you join early access, you may submit your email and, optionally, a special role (Partner or Ambassador) and a social media handle. We may accept, decline, or revoke early access at our discretion.
- Do not share accounts or invite codes in ways that violate our invite rules.
- Notify us promptly at hello@tripsi.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
4. How Tripsi works
Tripsi helps travelers: discover nearby community spots on a map; capture spots by taking photos on location; review spots across experience, accessibility, and safety; and build trust through verified captures, rankings, favorites, and a personal travel journal.
Tripsi is currently free for users. We may introduce paid plans or optional features later; if we do, we will explain pricing and any new terms before charging you.
Features may change during early access. We may add, modify, or remove functionality without notice.
5. User content
“User Content” includes photos, captures, ratings, reviews, profile information, comments, stories, and any other material you submit.
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting it, you grant Tripsi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate, improve, promote, and secure the Services.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that it does not infringe others’ rights or applicable law.
- Captures must be taken on site. Stock photos, stolen images, or off-site recreations are not allowed.
- Ratings and reviews must reflect your honest experience.
- Do not upload illegal, harmful, misleading, or abusive content.
- We may remove or restrict User Content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
6. Location, camera, and device permissions
Certain features require device permissions, including location (to show nearby spots and help verify on-site captures) and camera or photo library access (to create captures and media).
You can manage permissions in your device settings. Some features will not work without them. Location and photo data are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Rankings, badges, and invites
Capture rankings, badges, and similar recognition are community engagement features, not contests for cash prizes. See Section 10 (Promotions and in-app Campaigns) for when a separate campaign creates prize or reward rights.
Invite-only access is designed to keep the map honest. Misusing invites, fabricating captures, or gaming rankings may result in loss of access.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Services.
- Interfere with verification, location checks, or ranking integrity.
- Harass others, impersonate anyone, or collect personal data without permission.
- Use Tripsi to promote unsafe, illegal, or exploitative activity.
- Bypass invite controls, feature flags, or security measures.
9. Partners and ambassadors
If you apply as a Partner or Ambassador, additional collaboration terms may apply. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, early-access role applications do not create employment, agency, or exclusivity.
10. Promotions and in-app Campaigns
From time to time, Tripsi may run promotions. These include early-access campaigns, invite or referral campaigns, capture challenges, seasonal campaigns, Partner or Ambassador campaigns, giveaways, contests, or other limited-time offers (each, a “Promotion”).
Tripsi also operates an in-app Campaign feature managed from our admin panel and shown inside the Tripsi app (“Campaigns”). Campaigns can deliver promotional content or surveys in placements such as Home and other screens we enable. A Campaign may include text, images, video, HTML content, links, in-app routes, deep links, or call-to-action buttons.
Each Promotion or Campaign may have its own official rules, schedule, audience targeting, frequency limits, and creative content. If those rules conflict with these Terms, the Promotion or Campaign rules control for that item only.
- Participation is voluntary. Unless a Promotion’s or Campaign’s rules say otherwise, no purchase is required while Tripsi is free for users.
- You may usually dismiss Campaign content when it is marked dismissible. Closing or ignoring a Campaign does not by itself cancel your Tripsi account.
- Campaigns may be targeted using factors such as platform, app version, language/locale, schedule, frequency rules, and audience criteria configured by Tripsi (and, where enabled, approximate or precise location you have already permitted for the app).
- We may measure Campaign performance (for example impressions, taps, dismissals, video plays, and link opens) to operate, secure, and improve delivery. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
- Capture rankings, badges, and similar in-app recognition are not Promotions or Campaigns and do not create a right to cash, products, or other prizes, unless we expressly include them in a Promotion’s or Campaign’s official rules.
- We may create, activate, pause, archive, modify, or cancel a Promotion or Campaign, or substitute a reward of equal or greater value, when reasonably necessary (for example fraud, technical issues, legal requirements, or operational limits), and we will communicate material changes when practical.
- We may disqualify participants who violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or a Promotion’s or Campaign’s rules, or who manipulate captures, invites, rankings, Campaign interactions, or other mechanics.
- Unless stated otherwise, Promotions and Campaigns are not affiliated with Apple, Google, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, or other platforms, and those platforms are not sponsors or administrators.
- If a Promotion or Campaign includes a prize or reward, winners are responsible for any taxes or reporting obligations that apply to them. Rewards have no cash value unless we expressly say so.
- Partner-run Promotions or Campaigns must be clearly identified. Tripsi is not responsible for Partner offers unless we expressly co-sponsor them in writing.
- External links opened from a Campaign may lead to third-party sites or apps governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
11. Travel and safety disclaimer
Tripsi helps travelers share community-verified information, but spots, routes, accessibility, and safety can change quickly. Ratings and captures are opinions and observations from other users, not professional advice.
You remain solely responsible for your travel decisions, personal safety, local laws, permits, and respect for private property and natural areas. Always use your own judgment.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tripsi and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services.
Because Tripsi is currently provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Tripsi against claims, damages, and expenses arising from your User Content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Tripsi at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the community, or if we discontinue the Services.
Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including licenses already exercised, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive.
15. Changes to the Services or Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country provide otherwise.
Before filing a formal dispute, please contact hello@tripsi.app so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
